Privacy policy
Hexdrift · last updated October 8, 2026
Hexdrift has no accounts and never asks for your name, email, phone number, or location. It uses two outside services: OneSignal to deliver notifications and in-app messages, and Google's Firebase to understand how the game is played and to fix crashes. What each involves is listed below.
- The app has no accounts and no sign-in.
- In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit, and Apple's privacy policy covers those transactions.
- Notifications and in-app messages are delivered by OneSignal. When the app runs, OneSignal receives an anonymous device identifier and push token, your IP address, device model, OS and app version, language and time zone, and usage events such as app sessions and whether a notification or message was opened. We use this to send occasional Hexdrift news and to see whether messages are useful. It is not linked to your identity, not used to track you across other apps or sites, and not sold. Notifications are optional: you are asked once, and can turn them off at any time in the Settings app.
- Gameplay analytics, crash reports and remote game settings use Google's Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics and Remote Config), so we can see which levels are too hard, what players enjoy, and fix crashes. Firebase receives an app-specific installation identifier, device model, OS and app version, country and region (worked out from your IP address), session times, and game events: levels started, won, lost and left with scores, stars, drops and time played, Daily and Endless scores, tutorial steps, Shards earned and spent, and in-app purchases (product, price and currency). If the app crashes, Crashlytics receives the crash report with diagnostic details such as the device state and the level being played. Remote Config only downloads settings for the game. Firebase does not receive your name, email, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifier (the app never asks to track you), and the data is not used for advertising or sold. You can turn analytics off at any time in Hexdrift's Settings under "Share usage data". Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Hexdrift 1.2 and earlier sent the same kind of gameplay data to GameAnalytics instead of Firebase; later versions no longer use GameAnalytics.
- Scores, settings, and purchase records are stored on your device. We run no servers of our own; the only data that leaves your device is what this page describes.
- If you use iCloud, your progress (Shards, unlocked themes, best scores, levels and stars, and your Daily streak) is also saved to your own private iCloud storage so it survives a reinstall or a new phone. Only you and Apple's iCloud service can access it; we cannot.
- If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores are posted to Apple's Game Center leaderboards under your Game Center name, under Apple's terms. You can sign out of Game Center in the Settings app.
- The app contains no third-party advertising and no ad tracking.
